Margaret Watson

Mags is a health services researcher and registered pharmacist. She is the Professor of Health Services Research and Pharmacy Practice in the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde. Her research interests include the safe and effective use of medicines and effective professional practice, particularly amongst pharmacists and prescribers. She is also an honorary Professor with the University of Bath and is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

My clinical and research interests are in Clinical therapeutics and prescribing, Dementia, Community Geriatrics, and Medical Education. I also hold the position of deputy Lead for Complex Medicine of Older People at the University of Bristol and an honorary appointment as a Research Fellow.

Sureshkumar Kamalakannan

I am an academic researcher with expertise in Occupational therapy, Public Health, disability and Epidemiology. I am an Early Career Fellow in clinical and public health for the DBT - Wellcome Trust (India Alliance) evaluating the effectiveness of a Technology-enabled educational intervention for stroke survivors in India through a clinical trial. I am also a visiting fellow for the International Centre for Evidence in Disability at LSHTM. I currently co-investigate a project funded by MRC-UK to develop a stroke caregiver intervention for strengthening health system in Malaysia and also a NIHR Funded research related to promoting Universal Health Coverage for stroke survivors in South Africa.

I am also a systematic reviewer and I contribute to the Cochrane Collaboration and Cochrane India Network. I primarily teach health system strengthening and policy development, especially in the area of disability and Non-communicable diseases. I provide technical support to the department of disability in Telangana State of India. I also contribute to the editorial board of the Indian Journal of OT and the British Journal of OT. I have published about 50 research papers related to disability rehabilitation and public health in national and international indexed journals. I am also a peer-reviewer for various national and International health journals including the archives. I contribute as a member of the International Networking Group of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine’s task force for refugees. I am passionate about mainstreaming disability within the agenda for health in Low and Middle-Income Countries.

 Emma has been an academic researcher since 2002. Her main research interests are Information Behaviour and Human Computer Interaction (HCI). She has conducted studies of technology use in many contexts e.g. Healthcare (including Mental Health), Social Care, Education and Cultural Heritage. Much of her research has focused on understudied and often vulnerable populations such as older adults and young people. She is experienced in co-design, prototyping and evaluation of technology products.
